In our #AntiRacismEducation programme at Den’s Road Primary, we’re focusing on UNCRC Articles 7, 8, and 30 – rights that emphasize the importance of identity, culture, and belonging. These rights are central to understanding anti-racism, and as we mark #BlackHistoryMonth, children will be able to explore and honour diverse identities and cultural heritage, while also recognizing the importance of preserving their own 🌍

Children used art to explore and express their identities and cultures. 🎨✨ Through this creative approach, we aimed for them to deepen their understanding of diversity, belonging, and anti-racism, turning powerful ideas into vibrant visuals.

Alongside creating art, we took time to revisit some of the key words and definitions we’ve been learning 📝 Building a shared understanding of these terms helps us all to talk about anti-racism with confidence and clarity 💪

Young artists also designed a map of their “Anti-Racism World,” a space where their sculptures will stand as symbols of unity, diversity, and inclusivity. Each part of their world reflects themes we’ve discussed—solidarity, respect, and anti-racism values. These sculptures will create a powerful visual journey against racism, showcasing each child’s message and voice.
